Application Process

Applications for the 2011-2012 school year will be available for download from the website on November 5, 2010. Copies will also be available at our Open House on November 7, or in our school office on November 8. Please call our Admissions Office at 770-518-1804 x101 to have a copy mailed to you.  Applications are due on January 28, 2011.

For new applicants, the application fee is $175 per child payable at the time the application is submitted.  For applicants who are currently on our waiting list, please complete the re-application form which will be mailed to you in late October.  The reapplication fee is $50, and applicants will be required to provide updated records. Please contact the Admissions Office if you do not receive a reapplication packet.

When all application requirements have been completed and submitted, the Admissions Committee will review the application to determine if Queen of Angels Catholic School can meet the needs of the applicant.  The final decision of the Admissions Committee will be conveyed to parents via US Mail on April 1, 2011. Requests for emails or phone calls indicating acceptance/wait list status before this date are not permitted.

If you have any questions about the application process, please contact the Admissions Director, Mrs. Molly Carlin, at mcarlin@qaschool.org.

Testing

All kindergarten applicants will undergo kindergarten readiness testing.  This testing will take place at the school on February 8-10, 2011. Parents will be notified of the assigned testing appointment by letter upon receipt of the application.

Applicants to grades 1-8 will be tested when an opening is expected in that grade level. The purpose of the admissions test is to evaluate the student’s achievement levels in reading, math, and written expression.

School Tours

Tours of the school are available on Thursday mornings by appointment only beginning after Labor Day. Please contact the Admissions Director, Mrs. Molly Carlin, at mcarlin@qaschool.org to set up an appointment. Tours take approximately 45 minutes and involve visiting classrooms while school is in session.

Open House

Our annual Open House will be held on Sunday, November 7, 2010, from 2:00 – 3:30 PM.  This is a great opportunity to visit our campus, hear from our principal, meet our teachers, and interact with representatives from the various offices and organizations within our school. Registration is not required to attend.

Tuition and Financial Aid

Tuition for the current school year is $6710 per student. Expect a 3-5% increase for 2011-2012. We do not offer a multiple child discount.

Anyone interested in applying for financial aid should complete the online application available on our website in January 2011.  In order to be considered for the full amount of assistance, applications for financial aid must be submitted by the due date of February 28, 2011. Applicants should apply whether or not they know they are going to be admitted.  Late applications will be subject to a penalty and reduced assistance.
